Holy Knit Review: Is It Worth the Read?

What would you do if you were a pink-haired young woman who lost her grandma, got dumped by her boyfriend, and had a month to make up $3000 in back rent? If you’re the FMC in Holy Knit by Deborah Alexander you’d be praying to the universe for help. But is Holy Knit by Deborah Alexander worth it? Read this review to find out.

In Holy Knit, a young woman Trin is grieving the loss of her grandma.

Just then things hit rock bottom they get worse. Her partner leaves, and she’s stuck with a painful bill of $3,000. The only company she has left is her beloved cat and a pair of knitting needles.

She sits down on the couch and cries. With everything going on in her life, I don’t blame her.

She turns to see a man standing in her living room being crocheted by her grandma’s knitting needles.

Trin falls over backward when he tells her that her grandma sent him to Earth to be with her.

He doesn’t have a name or clothes. Trin gives him a pair of her sweatpants and a tank top and they decide on the name Grayson.

Grayson helps her clean up the house. Before long the two exchange passionate kisses and they have their first fiery encounter with each other’s skin.

As Trin feels safe, she finds herself falling in love with Grayson.

However, there is one discrepancy…

Grayson has 48 hours to decide if he will stay human and be with Trin for the rest of her days. Or, go back to the guardian realm.

Decisions… Decisions…

Holy Knit Review: What I Loved

I honestly think this cozy, urban fantasy romance is under-rated. It was beautiful and emotional, and you could feel all of the emotions and descriptions in this book. I loved that there were conflicts that were not heavy, dark, or triggering.

I love my dark romances, but the cozy fantasy romances are what grabs my heart. I love that this fantasy romance takes place in modern times. I feel many of us are secretly magical beings. Our mundane lives are just a quarter of the magic buzzing inside and around us.

Another thing I love about this book is the spicy, sweet, and steamy scenes. They aren’t too rough or dark, and yet oh my goddess are they good!

There are some revenge-spicy scenes. If you like revenge spice, this book may be for you.

Holy Knit Review: What I Disliked

I honestly can’t say that I disliked a lot about this book. But I do have a few things that I want to address:

  • Can we PLEASE have a backstory about Grandma Dottie?! Is she secretly a witch? Is she a goddess of romance? I want to know more about her and her relationship with Trin.
  • What happens with Trin and Grayson? Do they get married? Are there challenges? Do they have kids? I want to know!
  • I also would love more about Grayson’s background. Was he always a Guardian? Was he always sweet and loving? I want more!
  • I hope that Deborah Alexander plans to release more books relating to Holy Knit. I certainly desire to read more of them!

Final Thoughts

Holy Knit is a spicy, cozy, fantasy romance set in modern times. If you love possibilities’, true love, and spice, this book is for you.
